At a glance

The BC NDP's Jagrup Brar took this new riding in 2009 with 50 per cent of the vote. It's located in the north-central area of Surrey.

Incumbent Brar, opposition critic for small business, runs again this May. Other candidates include three-term Langley Mayor Peter Fassbender for the BC Liberals.

Notary Public and insurance agent Murali Krishnan is the BC Conservative candidate.

Tim Binnema, who's worked in sawmills and now is a manager of engineering at a firm, is the BC Green. Arvin Kumar is a B.C. Vision candidate.

This district was established by the Electoral Districts Act in 2008. Surrey Fleetwood is an amalgamation of mostly Surrey-Tynehead along with portions of Surrey-Green Timbers, Surrey-Newton and Surrey-Cloverdale.
